Say I Do Beauty’s Pro Guidelines
Say I Do Beauty is testing a new feature called Say I Do Beauty to better connect customers with trusted, local service professionals. Because we’re a platform based on the local wedding community, we expect everyone to act like good vendors. In the context of Say I Do Beauty Pro, being professional means respecting one another, being reliable, earning trust, and prioritizing the safety of yourself and others.
Standards for Participation
Professionalism
When communicating on Say I Do Beauty, both businesses and the members who hire them should honor a commitment to earn and retain trust by being respectful, reliable, and true to who they are.
- Real Names: We require both members and businesses to use their real names at signup. Accurately and authentically representing yourself helps others find you on Say I Do Beauty while building their trust.
- Credentials: Pros have the option to include their professional licenses on their profiles. These licenses are self-reported by Pros and Say I Do Beauty does not verify them. Pros are solely responsible for the information that they provide to Say I Do Beauty.
- Conflict Resolution: If a negative experience arises while using Say I Do Beauty Pro, please remain professional as you communicate and/or excuse yourself from the situation. If at any point you feel unsafe, you can contact the local authorities if you deem it appropriate. Afterward, if an invoice has been issued, please contact Say I Do Beauty’s Support Team no later than 48 hours after receipt to pause any auto-charge, and provide all relevant documentation. Do not hesitate to reach out to the Support Team even if no invoice has been sent. For further details on how to resolve payment and service disputes, see Disputes in the section below.
Health & Safety Standard — COVID-19
As the world continues to battle COVID-19, we require that both Pros and the members who hire them:
- Commit to health safety & transparency: Before arriving for a job or hiring a Pro to complete a project for you, you must agree that you’re symptom-free of COVID-19, and will follow CDC guidance, including wearing a face mask that covers your mouth and nose. A mask is required even if you’ve been vaccinated.
- Adhere to best practices for in-person interactions:
- Before the job begins, sanitize your hands and all high-touch surfaces and items.
- During the job, wear a face mask that covers your mouth and nose (even if you are vaccinated), and maintain six feet of space.
- After the job, resanitize your hands and all high-touch surfaces and items.
You must cancel your Say I Do Beauty Pro booking if you’re experiencing any symptoms of illness, including:
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Or any two of these symptoms:
- Fever
- Chills
- Repeated shaking due to chills
- Muscle pains
- Headache
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
If you cancel within 24 hours of your booking due to COVID-19 related symptoms, please contact us to request a refund for your cancellation fee.
Lastly, Say I Do Beauty encourages all members to get vaccinated.
Payments, Invoices, and Disputes
All Say I Do Beauty Pro payments must be completed on-platform. Taking payments off-platform may result in Pros and hiring member being removed or restricted from the program.
When a service is completed, Pros will be able to create an invoice for the member via the app. Members will receive the invoice and pay through the app. Say I Do Beauty will then make a direct deposit to you via your registered payout method. Pros can expect to see funds in their bank accounts up to 5 business days after the member pays their invoice. When a member pays their invoice, the Pro will be notified. If an invoice has not been paid after 72 hours, the member’s account will be auto-charged.
If either party has a dispute about the payment or quality of service provided, reach out to Say I Do Beauty within 48 hours of the invoice being sent to pause the auto-charge. This will give both parties the opportunity to come to a resolution between themselves (Say I Do Beauty does not mediate), at which point the Pro can submit a modified invoice for payment, or the hiring member can pay the original invoice.
Regarding taxes, Pros will receive a Form 1099-K from Say I Do Beauty if the payment transaction volume meets the following conditions:
- 200 separate payments for goods or services in a calendar year, and
- $20,000 USD in gross payment volume from sales of goods or services in a calendar year.
If a Pro has multiple accounts that meet the reporting thresholds when combined, the gross payment volume from all accounts will be considered to determine the annual Form 1099-K IRS threshold.
PLEASE NOTE
These amounts may not be included in your taxable income, but we’re required to report them if these thresholds are exceeded. Consult your tax advisor to determine how to treat these items for your own tax purposes.
For more information, see the IRS instructions for Form 1099-K.
Cancellation Policy
Hiring members may cancel a booking without penalty up to 45 days before the booking is scheduled to begin. If the member who is hiring cancels a booking less than 45 days before, that member will be charged a fee (75% of the total quote estimate, up to a max of $1000) payable to the Pro. If the Pro cancels a booking less than 24 hours before the booking is scheduled to begin, if the Pro is more than one hour late and results in the hiring neighbor canceling the job, if the Pro arrives unprepared to perform the job(s), or otherwise violates any Say I Do Beauty’s Pro Guidelines, the hiring member will not be charged a cancellation fee in connection with the booking.
As mentioned in the Health & Safety section above, the cancellation fee does not apply to bookings canceled due to a COVID-19 related symptoms. Please contact us to request a refund.
